OE Foundation is a beacon of hope, fueled by an unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives. Founded in 2010 by Dr. T. and Dr. BV Mbalati, a visionary couple with a combined experience of 86 years in education, the organization embodies a deep commitment to learning and nurturing the potential within each young mind. Dr. T.’s impressive career spans 41 years, with the last 31 spent as a circuit manager, a testament to his dedication to leadership and educational systems.
His expertise was recognized in 2021 with the prestigious Kader Asmal Excellence Award for Leadership and Management. Dr. BV boasts 45 years of experience as an educator, including 15 years as a principal. Her passion and dedication were acknowledged in both 2021 and 2022 when she was named the best Primary School Principal in the Mopani West District. This formidable duo brings a unique blend of educational leadership and classroom experience to the helm of the OE Foundation.

Since its inception, the OE Foundation has demonstrably impacted the lives of numerous learners by providing them with the tools and resources they need to thrive. Our programs have fostered a love of learning, boosted academic performance, and instilled valuable life skills.
Roughly 80% of South African schools cannot provide learners with the necessary skills they require as a result of poor management of funds by schools and the government, various socio-economic factors influencing learner attendance, as well as staff qualifications.
As the OE Foundation, we are dedicated to promoting awareness of critical social issues impacting communities and youth. We actively participate in advocacy campaigns, public outreach, and educational projects that promote social justice, quality of education, environmental sustainability, and mental health awareness. We hope to bring about constructive change at the local, national, and global levels by promoting discourse and engagement.
